Definitely a great cozy little cabin perfect for a small to medium sized crew. Tucked away out of town but close enough to everything to be convenient. Would definitely recommend to someone looking for a rustic place this size.
Absolutely incredible place. The hospitality and genuine care expressed to make our stay enjoyable, was unforgettable. This cabin is perfect. Will definitely be back.
Place was wonderful. Just what we needed.
Had a GREAT time this past weekend staying at Jacob's Roost for the Bluegrass Festival. Three couples shared the cabin containing 3 bedrooms/3baths. We had plenty of parking available. Everything went very well. We had a huge amount of kitchen storage and all the supplies we needed. More than adequate supply of towels and linens. We loved the location among the trees and the view. Especially, LOVED having the rear carport entrance for loading and unloading since it rained MOST of the weekend. We also were able to park all three vehicles driven under the carport when there was a threat of storms and hail. Since it rained so much, we did not utilize the outdoor options(grill, gazebo, fire fit) at all, but would love to check these out next time. Not knowing the arrangement of the bedrooms, we had a few hitches. The couple assigned the upper bedroom had a private bath and everything worked out great. The main floor bath has only a tub unit, so the couple assigned that bath had to shower downstairs. The mirror in the lower bath was completely unusable due to darkening, so the couple assigned that bath had to go to the main bath upstairs to use the mirror when dressing. A bit inconvenient when everyone was getting ready at the same time. We never did get the MAN-Cave TV remote to work. Could have been cleaner. Ran across a few cobwebs and mouse droppings in the cabinets. The two bedrooms on the lower level have very dim lighting, but have very large closet areas. The cabin location was easy to find in the daylight, but we missed a few turns going in at night. FYI: There were two ceiling leaks in the sunroom and the wind broke a statute on the front porch. The door units to all the rooms are pocket doors, which I love, but they were very noisy. It was hard to be quiet opening the doors, especially during the night, and not disturb others. Overall, we would love to return for a visit in the Fall when the colors begin to show themselves.
